Clemens Busch, an organic and biodynamic pioneer, was already questioning the use of herbicides and lowering the sulphur levels in his wines as a young winemaker in the 1970s. When he and his wife Rita inherited his parents' winery and vineyards in 1984, they were able to put their ideas into action. The Pündericher Marienburg, a south-west-facing hillside vineyard in the Lower Mosel, provides the majority of their production.
