As you approach the area from the east, the wooded mop-top of the hill of Corton is frequently the first unmistakable Burgundian landmark that comes into view. The greatest white wines in the Côte de Nuits are located on this hill, and no grower is more highly regarded than Bonneau du Martray. The estate is somewhat more than 11 hectares in size, with 9.5 hectares in Corton-Charlemagne and the balance in Corton.
