Château Pontet-Canet is a large estate located in Pauillac, a Bordeaux premium right-bank village. Organic and biodynamic since 2004, the 81-hectare Estate vineyard borders those of Mouton Rothschild and is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (63%) Merlot (32%), and Cabernet Franc (5%). The Bordeaux Wine Official Classification classifies Pontet-Canet as a 5ème Cru Classé.
It is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. It is maturing in 35% amphora tanks, 50% new oak barrels, and 15% one-year-old barrels. The nose of black cherries is very enticing and seductive. Refined, with excellent fruit ripeness and balance, lush, silky finish.
