Located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, north of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Jean-Michel Giboulot has 12 hectares of vines in the finest appellations (Beaune 1er Cru, Pommard, Savigny 1er Cru, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru, with a majority of Pinot Noir). The vines are organically grown. The vinification is traditional with little intervention from the winemaker, using stainless steel and wood, and controlled temperatures.
Rich bouquet of black and red berries (blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry) and flowers in a deep cherry colour, scarlet with garnet accents (violets). The body is full-bodied and tannic in a subtle way. It keeps its fruit fresh. In the appropriate proportions, roundness and volume, balance and strength frequently hint like morello cherry with a charming grace.
