Tempranillo

A black grape variety which is native to Spain. "Temprano" means early, and it is usually harvested a few weeks earlier than most of the other grape varieties. It's a medium bodied, less aromatic and used as a blending grape. It can be made as single varietal wine and is usually aged in oak barrel in order to add complexity and intensify the wine.
