Located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, north of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Jean-Michel Giboulot has 12 hectares of vines in the finest appellations (Beaune 1er Cru, Pommard, Savigny 1er Cru, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru, with a majority of Pinot Noir). The vines are organically grown. The vinification is traditional with little intervention from the winemaker, using stainless steel and wood, and controlled temperatures.
Deep cherry hue, crimson with garnet highlights, followed by a bouquet of black and red berries (blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry) and flowers (violets). The body is discreetly tannic and full-bodied. It preserves its fruit. Roundness and volume, balance and power in the right proportions often hint at morello cherries with a lovely elegance.
